Abstract:
This seal system is provided with: a double mechanical seal including a pump-side sealing mechanism (10, 12) and an atmosphere-side sealing mechanism (11, 13); a pump mechanism (19) driven by a rotating shaft (1); a first medium circulating line (30) which is connected to a first chamber (22a) and a second chamber (22b) and which causes a fluid barrier and cooling medium different from a fluid being handled by a centrifugal pump to circulate between the first chamber (22a) and the second chamber (22b); a heat exchanger (21) and a shutoff valve (28) attached in the first medium circulating line (30); a second medium circulating line (31) which bypasses the shutoff valve (28); and a medium pressure pump (45) and an open/closed valve (23) attached in the second medium circulating line (31).
