Abstract:
A sealing apparatus of rotary valve-flap type valve mechanism for an internal combustion engine is disclosed , wherein a rotary valve-flap is provided between an internal housing and an external housing and a first sealing structure is provided between the rotary valve-flap and the internal housing . Said first sealing structure is that annular concave grooves are provided around an intake port and an exhaust port of the internal housing respectively , a sealing ring is provided in each of the grooves and an elastic member is provided between the sealing ring and the bottom of the groove. The sealing apparatus further includes a second sealing structure for preventing passages from communicating with each other Said second sealing structure is that annular concave grooves are provided around an intake port and an exhaust port at the inside of the external housing respectively, a segmented sealing member is provided in each of the grooves and an elastic member is provided between the sealing member and the external housing. The sealing apparatus according to the invention is good in sealing effect and simple in the structure, and can avoid turbulence of intake air and exhaused gas due to an angle of valve opening overlap to effectively improve operating condition, economic effect and emission of the egine.
