Abstract:
A sealing device is held at the opening of a tube member for receiving operating fluid and scrapes off the operating fluid adhering to the outer peripheral surface of a shaft member inserted in a movable manner in the tube member. The sealing device is provided with one or more annular lip sections each provided with: a seal edge which protrudes to the shaft member side and which is brought into pressure contact with the outer peripheral surface of the shaft member; and a circumferential groove which is formed along the circumferential direction on the opposite side of the seal edge from the operating fluid. Both shoulders of the circumferential groove are formed in an obtuse angle, and the angle of the shoulder on the operating fluid side is greater than the angle of the shoulder on the side opposite the operating fluid.
