Abstract:
Provided is a sealing device for which the workability of mounting to an annular groove provided in a housing is improved. This sealing device 100 is characterized by being provided with: packing 110 made of an elastic material; and a backup ring 120a, wherein the backup ring 110a has a higher stiffness than the packing 110 and is composed of a plurality of split bodies 121a, the outer peripheral surface sides of which are fixed to an annular notch part 114, and the plurality of split bodies 121a are configured such that adjacent split bodies 121a are not fixed to each other, and the plurality of split bodies 121a form an annular shape when all of the split bodies 121a that are adjacent to each other come into close contact with each other.
