Abstract:
Provided is a sealing device such that depletion of a lubricant can be reduced. This sealing device is characterized in that a plurality of annular grooves 222 are provided on a sliding surface of a side lip 220 so as to be adjacent to each other at a position away from the distal end of the side lip 220, each portion constituting an annular protrusion 223 between adjacent annular grooves 222 is formed so that the widthwise center thereof protrudes farthest, the amount of protrusion decreases with distance from the center, and both sides are symmetrical with respect to the widthwise center, and a portion of the sliding surface of the side lip 220 which is on the distal-end side of the region where the plurality of annular grooves 222 are provided makes planar contact with respect to an end face of an annular member.
