Abstract:
The present invention reduces rotational torque. An annular sealing device (1) is mounted in an annular groove (210) provided on the outer circumference of a shaft (200), seals an annular space (S) between the shaft (200) and a housing (300) which rotate relative to each other, is constituted such that the fluid pressure varies, maintains the fluid pressure in a region to be sealed, and is brought into slidable contact with a sidewall surface (211) on the lower pressure side in the annular groove (210). The sealing device (1) comprises: a sliding portion (20) that slides with respect to the sidewall surface (211); an inner peripheral portion (30) in contact with the shaft (200); a sliding portion groove (21) with a shape recessed in the axial x-direction, formed so as to extend circumferentially in the sliding portion (20); an introduction groove (22) with a shape recessed in the axial x-direction, formed so as to extend from the sliding portion groove (21) to the inner peripheral portion (30); and an inner peripheral groove (40) with a shape recessed in the axial x-direction, provided at the joining portion between the sliding portion (20) and the inner peripheral portion (30).
