Abstract:
Provided is a search device (100), which, upon accepting from a searcher (S) an instruction to execute a search relating to a query upon a database (22), executes the search relating to the query, presents the results of the search to the searcher (S), and records resource volumes required by the search in association with the query relating to the search. A prompting unit (11) prompts the searcher (S) to modify a second query which takes as an initial value a first query for which a search has been completed. When the second query is modified, an estimation unit (12) estimates, on the basis of a difference between the first query and the modified second query, and the resource volumes required by the search relating to the first query, resource volumes which will be required by a search relating to the modified second query. A presentation unit (13) presents the estimated resource volumes. Upon accepting an instruction from the searcher (S) to end the modification, an execution unit (14) treats said acceptance as having accepted an instruction that a search relating to the modified second query is to be executed.
