Abstract:
[PROBLEM] To more safely ensure the cushioning properties of a seat cover covering an airbag-equipped automobile seat and a manufacturing method for the same, when a front or side collision occurs to an automobile, or the automobile rolls, and an airbag provided inside the automobile seat inflates from the impact, perforations sewn along each outer edge section of the seat structure in the seat cover immediately split. [SOLUTION] In a seat cover (B) covering an automobile seat (A) provided with a vehicle-body (5) side inflatable airbag (6) to which gas is provided upon impact when a front or side collision occurs to an automobile, or the automobile rolls, perforations (13), which correspond to splitting positions for the airbag, are sewn in the outer edge section of each of a plurality of cover structure parts (11, 12) of a cover main body (10, 10') using a sewing machine, and are formed from thin upper thread (14) and bobbin thread (15) which can be cut and split upon impact when a front or side collision occurs to an automobile, or the automobile rolls.
