Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an automobile seat cushion which a driver can stably sit on and which has properties sufficient for ensuring that driving operation is smooth and accumulation of fatigue over long periods of driving is reduced. The seat cushion (3) has a seat portion (5) and a backrest portion (7) which are covered by a cover sheet (11) having multiple through-vents, the seat cushion (3) being divided vertically, from the backrest portion (7) to the seat portion (5), into a center area (12) and side portion areas (14) that extend along left and right outer edges (21). When the center area (12) is viewed divided into two left and right areas (35 and 36) by an imaginary line connecting the midpoint of the upper portion outer edge (41) of the backrest portion (7) and the midpoint of the front side perimeter (23) of the seat portion (5), the interior of each of the two left and right areas (35 and 36) of the backrest portion (7) contains a rod-shaped elastic body (39) extending in a direction substantially parallel to the imaginary line or a direction toward the upper portion outer edge (41) of the backrest portion (7) and away from the imaginary line.
