Abstract:

A seat slide device for a vehicle enables an improvement in the degree of freedom in the design of the interior height of a vehicle, weight reduction, and an improvement in usability when a seat is moved forward and rearward, and is provided with: an upper rail (2) which is formed from an aluminum alloy and has a slide portion (21) in which a plurality of lines of ball rolling grooves (23) are formed along the longitudinal direction; a lower rail (3) which is formed from an aluminum alloy and has a guide groove (31) that houses the slide portion (21) of the upper rail (2), and in which ball rolling grooves (33) facing the ball rolling grooves (23) of the slide portion (21), respectively, are formed along the longitudinal direction in the guide groove (31); and a large number of guide balls (4) which are formed from a synthetic resin and arranged to form a line in the ball rolling grooves (23, 33) without using a cage, and support the movement of the upper rail (2) with respect to the lower rail (3).
