Abstract:
A seat sliding apparatus (10) for a vehicle is provided with an upper rail (6) for supporting a seat (1) thereupon, a lower rail (5) for supporting the upper rail (6) to be capable of moving relatively along the longitudinal direction of the upper rail (6), and a locking mechanism (7) configured so as to restrain the upper rail (6) from moving relative to the lower rail (5). The upper rail (6) is provided with a pair of side wall parts (15) that face each other in the width direction of the upper rail (6), and an upper wall part (16) that connects the side wall parts (15). The upper wall part (16) has a plurality of seat-securing parts (20), the upper rail (6) has at least one hole part (40) between the longitudinal end of the upper rail (6) and the seat-securing part (20) that is nearest to the longitudinal end, and the hole part (40) is a notch formed in the side wall parts (15) and the upper wall part (16).
