This seatt sliding apparatus for a vehicle is provided with a lower rail, an upper rail, a slide lock mechanism, and a slide lock release part. The slide lock mechanism turns a lock member to a slide lock position and holds the upper rail in a slide lock state. The slide lock release part releases the action of the slide lock mechanism by moving along the longitudinal direction of the upper rail. The slide lock release part has a drive part and an inclined surface provided to the drive part. The drive part is supported on the upper rail so as to be capable of sliding along the longitudinal direction of the upper rail, and the drive part slides on the basis of the operation of an operating member. The inclined surface causes the lock member to turn to a slide lock release position on the basis of the sliding action.
