Abstract:
The present invention accommodates various changes in the position of a seated person within limited installation space. A seat structure 1 comprises a seat 2, a backrest 3, and a leg rest 4. The manner in which the seated person is supported differs between an upright position and a relaxed position. In the upright position, the seat and backrest support the seated person using an ordinary mode of support. In the relaxed position, the lower leg region and the vicinity of the shoulder blades of the seated person are supported by the leg rest and backrest, while the seat is configured such that the mode of support is not constant, but variable. Thus, when the center of gravity moves as the result of the seated person moving (changing position), the mode of support provided by the seat changes in conformance therewith.
