　Provided are a seawater desalination system which desalinates seawater by removing salt from same, and an energy recovery apparatus which is suitable for use in the seawater desalination system (seawater desalination plant). This seawater desalination system comprises: a cylindrical chamber (CH) having spaces in the interior thereof for storing concentrated seawater and seawater, and positioned so the longitudinal direction thereof is vertical; a concentrated seawater port (P1) which intakes and discharges concentrated seawater and is provided below the chamber (CH); a seawater port (P2) which is provided above the chamber (CH) and which supplies and discharges seawater; a flow resistor (23) which is positioned within the chamber on the concentrated seawater port side; and a flow resistor (23) which is positioned within the chamber on the seawater port side. A disc (30) having a hole in the center thereof is positioned between the flow resistor (23) and the concentrated seawater port (P1) or the seawater port (P2).
