Abstract:
This invention provides a secondary battery charging method wherein, when a secondary battery (21) is charged, -ΔV, which renders a decrease of ΔV by which the battery voltage of the secondary battery (21) decreases from the peak voltage thereof, is detected, thereby determining that the battery is fully charged. In the secondary battery charging method: an invalidation time, in which the detections of the peak voltage and -ΔV are invalidated, is established; the invalidation time is calculated by dividing a current integrated quantity of a rapid charging current that is caused to flow into the secondary battery (21) by an average charging current quantity at the time of the rapid charging; and after a lapse of the invalidation time from the start of the charging of the secondary battery (21), -ΔV, which renders the decrease of ΔV by which the battery voltage of the secondary battery (21) decreases from the peak voltage thereof, is detected, thereby determining that the battery is fully charged.
