Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the invention, a secondary battery comprises a positive electrode terminal, a negative electrode terminal, a battery module, and a pre-charge circuit provided between a negative electrode of the battery module and the negative electrode terminal. The pre-charge circuit has a resistor connected to the negative electrode, and a first switch connected in series to the resistor. The secondary battery further comprises a processor, a measurement unit, and a second switch. The processor is operated by a voltage of at least a threshold value supplied from the battery module and controls the secondary battery. The measurement unit measures the voltage of the battery module. The second switch is connected in parallel with the pre-charge circuit between the negative electrode and the negative electrode terminal. When an external power supply is connected to the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal, if the measured voltage is less than the threshold value, the processor turns on the first switch, and turns off the second switch.
