Abstract:
This secondary battery is provided with: a positive electrode having, on a belt-like positive electrode foil, a covered part covered with a positive electrode active material layer and a positive electrode active material uncovered part; and a negative electrode having, on a belt-like negative electrode foil, a covered part covered with a negative electrode active material layer and a negative electrode active material uncovered part, wherein the positive electrode active material uncovered part is jointed to a positive electrode collector plate at one end of an electrode winding, the negative electrode active material uncovered part is joined to a negative electrode collector plate at the other end of the electrode winding, one or both of the positive electrode active material uncovered part and the negative electrode active material uncovered part have surfaces formed so as to bend toward the center axis of a wound structure and overlap each other, the surfaces have grooves, a surface located between the adjacent grooves has a raised part, and, in at least the raised part, the positive electrode active material uncovered part and the positive electrode collector plate are joined and/or the negative electrode active material uncovered part and the negative electrode collector plate are joined.
