Abstract:
Disclosed is a lithium ion secondary battery positive electrode active material using low-cost materials which makes it possible to realize high operating voltages and high capacities while suppressing decreases in capacity caused by cycling. The disclosed secondary battery positive electrode active material is a lithium-manganese composite oxide represented by the general formula (I). Lia(MxMn2-x-yYy) (O4-wZw) (I) (in the formula (I), 0.5 ≦ x ≦ 1.2, 0 < y ≦ 0.3, 0 ≦ a ≦ 1.2, and 0 < w ≦ 1. M includes at least Fe, and in addition to Fe, may further include at least one member selected from the group consisting of Ni, Cu and Cr. Y is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Li, Be, B, Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti and Si. Z is F and/or Cl.)
