Abstract:
The present invention relates to a secondary battery capable of being charged and discharged, and a combined cycle power system comprising the secondary battery, the secondary battery comprising: a cathode part including a first electrolytic solution, which is an aqueous electrolyte accommodated in a first reaction space, and a cathode partially immersed in the first electrolytic solution; and an anode part including a second electrolytic solution, which is an aqueous electrolyte accommodated in a second reaction space, and an anode partially immersed in the second electrolytic solution, wherein the anode includes an oxygen evolution reaction catalyst and is made of a material that is not metal, and, during discharge, carbon dioxide gas flows into the first electrolytic solution, hydrogen ions and bicarbonate ions are generated by means of the reaction of the water of the first electrolytic solution and the carbon dioxide gas, and the hydrogen ions and the electrons of the cathode are combined to generate hydrogen gas. The secondary battery according to the present invention does not use metal as an anode, and thus does not require anode replacement resulting from metal consumption and can be semi-permanently used.
