Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to control against the deformation of battery plates during a charge cycle in a jelly roll electrode body having a negative lead joined at the initiation of a negative electrode current collector. This secondary battery using a non-aqueous electrolyte according to one mode of the present invention includes the jelly roll electrode body (14). Therein, a negative electrode (12) has the negative lead (20a) which is joined at the initiation of the negative electrode current collector, and is wound one or more turns counting from the inner end with respect to the winding direction so as to not oppose the positive electrode (11) across a separator (13). The negative electrode (12) has an insulation tape (40) affixed to the negative electrode current collector in a spanning manner over the surface of the negative lead (20a) in the winding direction.
