Abstract:
Disclosed is a secondary battery comprising: a case having a space therein; an electrode assembly inserted into the case and comprising a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator formed therebetween; a cap plate for sealing an upper opening of the case; a vent hole formed by penetrating the cap plate; a terminal for a safety device, formed by penetrating the vent hole; a safety vent connected to a distal end of the terminal for a safety device; a connector one distal end of which is electrically connected to the safety vent, and the other distal end of which is connected to a first electrode terminal; and an insulator for a safety device, for providing insulation between the terminal for a safety device and the cap plate.
