Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a secondary battery capable of preventing a negative electrode current collector from being torn due to the expansion and contraction of a silicon-containing negative electrode active material layer. [Solution] This secondary battery has: a battery body part 20 having a plurality of stacked power generation elements; and a constraining part 80 for constraining the battery body part 20, wherein a first contact part 80, which exerts a constraining force to the surface of the outermost layer (a negative electrode-current collector 32) of the battery body part 20, is configured such that the stress generated in a boundary between a contact region and a non-contact region of the first contact part 81 is smaller than the rupture strength of the negative electrode current collector 32, the stress being based on the constraining force and the expansion and contraction of a negative electrode caused by a volume change in the negative electrode active material due to charging and discharging.
