Abstract:

Provided is a secondary battery. The secondary battery comprises: a housing having an opening; a cap assembly comprising a cap plate and an electrode terminal, the cap plate covering the opening and having an electrode lead-out hole; an electrode assembly received in the housing, the electrode assembly having a main body and a tab, and the tab extending from one side of the main body close to the cap plate and being bent relative to a thickness direction of the cap plate to form a bent portion; and a current collecting connection plate positioned between the cap plate and the main body, the current collecting connection plate comprising a first connection portion, a second connection portion, and a transition portion connected between the first connection portion and the second connection portion, the first connection portion and the second connection portion extending in a width direction of the cap plate and arranged opposite to each other, the first connection portion being connected to the electrode terminal, and the second connection portion being connected to the bent portion. The invention can enhance stability of connection between an electrode terminal and an electrode assembly of a secondary battery, and increase an energy density of the secondary battery.
