A secondary cell having an electrode laminated body and a collector member, and a method for manufacturing the secondary cell. The laminated body is obtained by layering electrode plates, and the collector member is bonded to a collector foil laminated portion, which is a portion of the electrode plate not laminated with an active-substance layer. The collector foil laminated portion and the collector member are bonded by superposing the locations to be bonded together, and performing resistance welding while bringing the locations into contact with each other under pressure by placing these locations between resistance-welding electrodes on either side. The area ratio (Yd)/(Xd) when the direction of pressure welding is the projection direction is 1.2-4, (Xd) being the projection area of the surface where contact is made with the collector foil laminated portion by the resistance weld electrode pressing the surface of the collector foil laminated portion, and (Yd) is the projection area of the surface where contact is made with the collector member by the resistance weld electrode pressing the surface of the collector member.
