Title:
SECONDARY PHOTOCELL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/174131
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A barrier (3) exhibiting proton conductivity is disposed in an electrolyte (2) containing an electron receptor and a hole receptor, and a first reaction chamber (4) and a second reaction chamber (5) are defined by the barrier (3) interposed therebetween. First and third electrodes (6, 8) are disposed in the first reaction chamber (4), and a second electrode (7) is disposed in the second reaction chamber (5). In the first electrode (6), a transparent electroconductive film (11) is formed on a transparent substrate (10), and a thin film layer (12) comprising an organic semiconductor material such as a phthalocyanine compound is formed on the transparent electroconductive film (11). The thin film layer (12) preferably measures 10-300 nm in thickness. Thereby realized is a secondary photocell that can convert light energy into electrochemical energy in an efficient and inexpensive manner, that is suitable for applications in which flexibility is required, and that has an excellent durability and satisfactory cycling characteristics even after repeated charging/discharging.
