Title:
SECRET IDENTIFYER FOR CAR LOCKS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1998/020218
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention is related to a secret identifyer for car locks, whose finality is identifying the size of the bolts ('gorjas') which composes the secret of the lock cylinders of all kind of cars which use 'gorja' systems, turning possible making another original key without the necessity of spearkeying or dismantling the car lock, when the original key is lost; it contains a scale key (2) which, when set in the lock cylinder, starts the cursor (1), which is plugged at the flexible needle (8); this needle (8) will start the gorja of the cylinder, moving it up till the ceiling, showing at the scale (3), the exact size of the tooth to be made.

"SECRET IlDENTIlFYER FOR CAR LOCKS", according to Claims 1 to 6, wherein the scale key (2) has reference lines which show when the end of the flexible needle (8) reaches the gorja of the cylinder; this will enduce the gorja to get up till the cylinder's ceiling; this information is transmitted to the scale (3), informing the exact size of the key tooth.
Description:
"SECRET IDENTIFYER FOR CAR LOCKS".

The finality of this invention is identifying the size of the bolts ("gorjas") which composes the secret of the lock cylinders of all kind of cars which use "gorja" systems, turning possible making another original key without the necessity of spearkeying or dismantling the car lock, when the original key is lost.

The invention will be better described through the following drawings, enclosed herein: Figure 1 is a view in partial section of the secret identifyer, according to this invention; Figure 2 shows the screws of the limiter guide; Figure 3 shows the limiter guide; and Figure 4 shows the retaining guide.

According to the drawings enclosed, the new "SECRET IDENTIFYER FOR CAR LOCKS" is composed by a cursor (1) and a scale key (2), in whose median part is retained a metalic tube (7), which is properly bent like a "L", near the end of the scale key (2), following its form.

The scale key (2) is called like this because its head contains a scale which will be used by the locksmith to informing the exact size of the key teeth which will be made. The finality of the metalic tube (7) is conducting a flexible needle (8), manufactured in nylon and metal, which will start the gorja of the lock cylinder.

The flexible needle (8) is retained to the attacher channel (23) by a screw (10), which is disposed in another channel (24) . The cursor (1) has a

central female guide (14) and a lateral female guide (13) which are plugged on the scale key head. This scale key (2) also has a lateral male guide (4) and a central male guide (9), which allows forwarding and rewinding movements.

At the cursor's central part, there is a line (5) which is in front of the scale (3), and is capable of slipping on it, allowing estimate the size of the key teeth to be made.

At the cursor's lower rigth side, there is the groove of a limiter (11), where is fitted a limiter stop (16), through two screws (19) which cross the limit guide's orifices (25), superposed by the scale key orifices (12). These scale key orifices (12) arealso superposed by the screwed orifices (22) of a retaining guide (17). The limiter stop (16) does not allow that the cursor (1) gets away from the scale key (2), when it moves backwards.

The scale key (2) has reference lines which show when the end of the flexible needle (8) reaches the gorja of the cylinder. This will enduce the gorja to get up till the cylinder's ceiling. This information is transmitted to the scale (3), informing the exact size of the key tooth.

The scale key (2) also has a tooth (20) which allows the passage of the gorja, this tooth being situated at the opposite side of the flexible needle (8).

So, when the gorja is started at the upper side, its lower side will be brought inside of the tooth (20).
