Description:
Description

SECURITY CONTAINER FOR BEACH UMBRELLAS

Technical Field

The present invention regards a security container suitable to be used with beach umbrellas.

Background Art

The use of beach umbrellas to protect oneself from the sun has been widely known. In particular, in nowadays bathing establishments they are inserted on a base fixed to the ground that warrants the stability thereof. To such an end, the base has generally a tubular element vertically extended wherein the rod of the umbrella is inserted . The base further shapes a small table-shaped support plane, for example circular, on which various usual objects can be arranged, such as bottles, books or newspapers and the like.

A problem occurring in the use of the beach umbrellas is constituted by the fact that they do not allow to keep in a secure way daily use objects, the theft or loss of which is to be avoided, such as for example keys, phones, documents and the like.

The solutions directed to solve such a problem, for example using bags or containers to be constrained to the umbrella during use, do not fully satisfy the exigencies of security of the users and in the meantime do not have the simplicity of use required in this sector.

Disclosure of invention

The task of the present invention is that of solving the aforementioned problem, devising a security container for beach umbrellas which allows to contain in its internal part in a protected way small objects, in particular to avoid the theft thereof.

Within such a task, a further scope of the present invention is that of providing a container that is optimally integrated with usual beach umbrellas.

Another object of the present invention is that of providing a security container having a simple conception, a securely reliable functioning and versatile use, as well as relatively economic cost.

The above mentioned scopes are attained, according to the present invention, by the security container for beach umbrellas according to claim 1 .

Brief Description of the Drawings

Details of the invention shall be more apparent from the detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the security container for beach umbrellas according to the invention, illustrated for indicative purposes in the attached drawings, wherein:

figure 1 shows a perspective view of a beach umbrella provided with the security container according to the invention;

figure 2 shows an exploded perspective view of the security container according to the invention;

figures 3 and 4 respectively show a perspective view, from different angulations, of a closing door of the security container;

figure 5 shows a perspective view of the internal side of the body of the security container;

figures 6 and 7 respectively show an axial section view of said body of the container and of the bottom thereof.

Best Modes of Carrying Out the Invention With particular reference to such figures, the beach umbrella equipped with the security container 10 according to the invention is indicated in its entirety with 1 . The beach umbrella comprises, in a known way, a base 2 for fixing to the ground equipped with a tubular element 3 vertically extended wherein the rod 4 of the umbrella is inserted. The base 2 shapes a substantially horizontal support plane 5, for example having a circular shape.

The container 10 consists of a bottom 1 1 suitable to be fixed on the small table 5 of the umbrella, through conventional screw means which cross suitable holes made on the same bottom 1 1 . The bottom 1 1 has preferably a circular shape, for example corresponding to the shape of the small table 5. On the bottom 1 1 a box-shaped body 12 is inserted, with an equally circular profile, having the same diametral dimensions as the bottom 1 1 . The body 12 has substantially the shape of a circular drum and shapes on the top a flat surface constituting in use a holder small table 22. Usefully the body 12 has the same diametral dimensions as the support plane 5 shaped by the fixing base 2.

The body 12 has on the lateral wall 13 an opening 14 for accessing its internal part, extended for an arc of suitable width circumference, for example for a quarter of its width. The opening 14 is closed in use by a door 15 hinged at one end to the body 12 according to a vertical axis. The door 15 has at such an end a swelled portion 25, substantially cylindrical , from which the hinge pin 26 is protruding.

More in details, from the bottom 1 1 a plurality of tubes 1 6 extend vertically, regularly distributed in proximity of the peripheral edge. The tubes 1 6 are suitable to receive, in mounting configuration, union means to corresponding pins 17 shaped inside the body 12, in proximity of the lateral wall 13. The pins 17 are connected to the lateral wall 13 through relative ribs 27.

From the bottom 1 1 and from the body 12 further axially extend, towards the inside of the container, respective cylindrical sleeves 18, 19. The sleeves 18, 19 are suitable to enable the insertion of the security container on the tubular element 3 of the fixing base 2 of the umbrella. Usefully the bottom 1 1 shapes at the entrance of the sleeve 18 a conical profiled draft portion 21 .

The door 15 has a curved shape, substantially with curvature radius equal to the radius of the bottom 1 1 , so as to reconstitute, in the closing position, the continuity of the lateral wall 13 of the body 12.

In the door 15 is obtained the mounting seat of a lock member 20. The lock 20 is usefully of the combination type, so as to avoid the use of keys and the like, but obviously the possibility of using different types of locks is not excluded.

The bottom 1 1 , the body 1 2 and the door 1 5 of the container are preferably made through moulding in plastic material, for example of the type of PVC, but it is obviously possible to provide for the use of different materials according to the exigencies.

Furthermore the container can suitably be equipped with an anti-wind device suitable to avoid a possible uncoupling of the umbrella from the support base, in case of strong wind . The anti-wind device is provided with a handle with a threaded stalk which is protruding inside the cylindrical sleeve 19, axially shaped inside the container to receive the rod 4 of the umbrella. The threaded stalk is screwed in a corresponding threaded seat radially shaped i n the aforesaid cylindrical sleeve 1 9, so as to engage the rod 4 of the umbrella. Suitably the screwing seat of the anti-wind device is obtained in a swelled portion of the sleeve 19. The functioning of the security container turns out to be easy to understand from the preceding description.

In use configuration, the container results to be stably fixed to the fixing base 2 of the umbrella, and shapes with its upper surface the small table 22 of the umbrella. It is possible to provide for such a small table 22 to have suitable cavities, for simplicity not represented, for the insertion of glasses and bottles or the like.

In the meanwhile the container shapes an internal space wherein small objects can be contained, such as keys, documents and the like. The closing of such a space by means of the door 15 provided with the lock 20 warrants the security of the container.

The described security container therefore attains the scope of containing in its internal part in a protected way small objects, in particular to avoid the theft thereof.

A characteristic of the described security container consists of the fact that it optimally integrates with the conventional beach umbrellas. In particular, the conta iner shapes a holder smal l table integrated to the u mbrella . The manufacture of the container through moulding in plastic material enables to provide very easily such a small table with cavities for housing bottles and glasses, so as to avoid the accidental fall thereof, possibly due to gusts of wind and the like.

The security container described for indicative purposes is open to numerous modifications and variations according to the diverse exigencies.

In practice, the embodiment of the invention, the materials used, as well as the shape and dimensions, may vary depending on the requirements. Should the technical characteristics mentioned in each claim be followed by reference signs, such reference signs were included strictly with the aim of enhancing the understanding the claims and hence they shall not be deemed restrictive in any manner whatsoever on the scope of each element identified for exemplifying purposes by such reference signs.
