Abstract:
The invention relates to a security element for security papers, valuable documents and the like with a thin-layer element (22) with a color shift tilt effect, comprising a reflecting layer (26), an absorbing layer (28) and a spacer layer (24), which is placed between the reflecting layer (26) and the absorbing layer (28). According to the invention, the spacer layer is formed by an ultra-thin film (24) with a thickness of less than 1.0 µm. This film (24) can be a drawn polyester film, e.g. a monoaxially, sequentially biaxially or simultaneously biaxially drawn polyalkylene terephthalate film or can be a biaxially drawn polyalkylene terephthalate film. The thin-layer element can be placed on a support while being stretched in areas in order to compensate for variations in thickness in the unstretched film.
