Title:
SECURITY SYSTEM COMPRISING A BIOMETRIC SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2001039134
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a security system that uses chip cards (1) comprising a biometric sensor (10), a fingerprint sensor for instance. Biometric information, i.e. the location of fingerprint minutias for instance, that is detected by the sensor (10) is compared to stored reference data which are separated into a first and a second part, whereby said parts are only stored in the data carrier (1) or are only stored in the reading device (2). Data security against the unauthorised reading out of reference information and the security against influencing the current authentication process are thus increased.
