Abstract:
A particle size measurement step for acquiring measurement data of the particle size distribution of sediment S, and an imaging step for placing the sediment S and a liquid L in a transparent container 5 and shaking the container, then capturing an image of the container 5 to acquire image data of the container 5 are performed for a plurality of types of sediment S, and, using as training data a plurality of sets of particle size distribution relationship data indicating a correlation between the measurement data of the particle size distribution of the sediment S and the image data of the container 5, a particle size distribution estimation model is generated in advance by machine learning through use of a particle size distribution machine learning unit, with the image data of the container 5 as input and estimation data of the particle size distribution of the sediment S as output. The image data of the container 5 acquired by performing the imaging step for estimation object sediment S are inputted to a particle size distribution processing unit, and the particle size distribution processing unit uses the particle size distribution estimation model to output estimation data of the particle size distribution of the estimation object sediment S. A characteristic such as the particle size distribution of sand can thereby be easily and precisely estimated.
