Abstract:
Provided is a seismic control device which can be installed while conserving space, can handle a wide range of request load, has a low temperature dependence and speed dependence, and can be obtained at a low cost. A coil spring (103) is attached to a shaft (101), and the shaft (101) is fastened by means of the coil spring (103). Both ends of the coil spring (103) are secured on the interior of a cylinder (102) so as to not move in the axial direction. When the shaft (101) is moved in the axial direction in relation to the cylinder (102), the shaft (101) slides in relation to the coil spring (103), and the friction generated therefrom causes the force generated by means of the abovementioned movement to be absorbed. The shaft (101) is attached to one building material while the cylinder (102) is attached to another building material. As a consequence, the relative movement generated between the two building materials caused by the vibration during an earthquake is absorbed.
