Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a seismic isolator that is capable of continuous and consecutive use at all times, and is a seismic isolator characterized by being provided in a building and by maintaining the horizontalness of the building, and also characterized in that: symmetrically facing curved surfaces are directly provided, for example, in the four corners of a building on the foundation base plate contacting the ground surface and on the foundation top plate on which the building is mounted; a spherical body is positioned at the center of the curved surfaces; the spherical body smoothly rotates as a result of horizontal vibrations caused by an earthquake; the foundation top plate rises as a result of rolling along the curved surfaces; seismic isolation activity occurs in the building; and when the movement of the earthquake finishes, the spherical body returns to the center section of the curved surfaces. This seismic isolator is characterized by being provided in a building and by maintaining the horizontalness of the building, and also characterized in that: symmetrically facing curved surfaces are directly provided on the foundation base plate contacting the ground surface and on the foundation top plate on which the building is mounted; one spherical body is positioned at the center of the curved surfaces; the spherical body rotates when the foundation base plate moves as a result of horizontal vibrations caused by an earthquake; the foundation top plate rises as a result of rolling along the curved surfaces; seismic isolation activity occurs in the building without transmitting the vibrations to the foundation top plate; and when the movement of the earthquake finishes, the spherical body returns to the center section of the curved surfaces.
