Abstract:
An electrical connector comprises an insulating housing that carries electrical contacts (6) which are matable with contacts (8) of a mating electrical connector. Each of the contacts (6) has a main contact portion (70) and an interposer contact portion (72) that is electrically connected to the main contact portion at a sliding interface. The interposer contact portions are separate units that are independantly movable relative to their respective main contact portions, wherein the interposer contact portions accomodate misalignment between the main contact portions and their respective mating contacts in the mating connector.
