Abstract:
This self-aligning roller bearing (10) includes a retainer (14) which has: a single annular section (14a) located between rows of rollers (13); and a plurality of column sections (14b) that extend from the annular section (14a) toward each of the rows of rollers (13) and are disposed in parallel in the circumferential direction of the annular section (14a). The rotation of the retainer (14) is guided by the rollers (13) held between the column sections (14b) adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction. Since the retainer (14) is guided by a rolling body, the retainer (14) avoids contact with components other than the rollers (13), and thus contact sound is further reduced. Furthermore, the retainer (14) is configured as a single unit, and thus there is no contact between retainers compared to the case of using two retainers that respectively hold the rollers (13) of respective rows, thereby reducing contact sound.
