Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a self-heating fuser roller that has a simple structure, exhibits excellent durability, and can be easily manufactured. A self-heating fuser roller according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a cylindrical metal core; a heat-insulation layer that is layered on the outer peripheral side of the metal core; a heat-generation layer that is layered on the outer peripheral side of the heat-insulation layer, and is heated by a power supply; and a mould-release layer that is layered on the outer peripheral side of the heat-generation layer. The heat-insulation layer may include: a matrix having, as a main component thereof, a synthetic resin or rubber; and a plurality of air cavities included in the matrix. The heat-generation layer may include: a matrix having, as a main component thereof, a synthetic resin or rubber; and a plurality of conductive fillers included in the matrix.
