Abstract:
Provided is a self-location-correction method for a drive assist vehicle which makes it possible to increase the opportunities for self-correcting a location on a map. A traffic lane selection control (Steps S4 through Steps S8) for selecting a traffic lane in which a vehicle (S) is to travel on the basis of map information and acquired information from an external sensor (11) which acquires vehicle (S) periphery information, the traffic lane selection control being configured so as to involve: identifying a self-location-correction target (white line L2) on a planned travel route on the basis of map information; determining whether or not it will be possible to recognize the self-location-correction target (white line L2) using the external sensor (11) from the center traffic lane (r2) in which the vehicle (S) is traveling upon arrival at the correction point (P) where the self-location-correction target (white line L2) is located; and when determined that it will not be possible to recognize the self-location-correction target (white line L2) from the center traffic lane (r2) in which the vehicle (S) is traveling, changing lanes to the leftmost lane (r1) where it will be possible to recognize the self-location-correction target (white line L2) before arriving at the correction point (P).
