Abstract:
Provided is a self-propelled electronic device that combines the function of being able to overcome upward level differences, and a function to avoid falling from the floor surface in downward level differences. This self-propelled electronic device comprises a housing, a drive wheel that drives the housing, a free-spinning sensor that detects when the drive wheel is not in contact with the floor surface, and a driving control unit that controls the driving of the housing, wherein when the free-spinning sensor detects that the drive wheel is not in contact with the floor surface, the driving control unit continues to drive the housing for a predetermined continuous driving time, and if the free-spinning sensor still detects that the drive wheel is not in contact with the floor after the continuous driving time has elapsed, stops the rotation of the drive wheel, and rotates the drive wheel in the reverse direction to the direction of rotation for a predetermined reverse driving time, thereby driving the housing in reverse.
