Abstract:

A self-propelled lawn mower is provided. The lawn mower includes: an onboard battery (4); an electric blade motor (8) operatively connected to the battery for rotating a mowing blade; an electric drive motor (6) operatively connected to the battery for propelling the lawn mower along the lawn to be mown; a control unit (10) for controlling the operation of the electric drive motor, thus controlling the movement of the lawn mower; a speed monitor (12) operatively connected to the control unit for monitoring the speed (v) of the drive motor; a speed selector (14) for selecting a predetermined speed (v*) of the drive motor; a total energy monitor (16) for monitoring a total energy consumption (p) of the battery, wherein the total energy consumption is the sum of energy consumption (p2) of the drive motor and energy consumption (p1) of the blade motor; a highest energy selector (18) for selecting a predetermined highest energy value(p*). The control unit is designed to keep the speed of the lawn mower at the predetermined speed independently from a push force of a user, and once the total energy consumption exceeds the predetermined highest energy value, the control unit will reduce the amount of the total energy consumption. The lawn mower can be operated comfortably and the battery can not be overloading.
