Abstract:
Disclosed is a tool that can help a disabled person to be self-reliant, reducing the burden on a person who helps the disabled person in said disabled person's everyday life. The disclosed self-reliance support tool is characterized by the use, in parts that are subjected to outside forces, of an elastic material that has a hysteresis loss of less than 50% and an elongation at break between 100% and 1200%. Preferably, a finger hole and a gripped-object hole are formed in the disclosed self-reliance support tool, and said tool helps to grip an object as follows: the finger hole is stretched open and a thumb or pointer finger is inserted, and the gripped-object hole is stretched open and the object is inserted. The self-reliance support tool is provided with: a finger hole section in which the finger hole is formed, a gripped-object hole section in which the gripped-object hole is formed, and a connecting section which connects the finger hole section and the gripped-object hole section. The finger hole section, the gripped-object hole section, and the connecting section are parts that are subjected to outside forces, and thus comprise the abovementioned elastic material.
