Abstract:
A folding baby carriage of so-called buggy type can be manufactured at reduced manufacturing cost and has increased stability when allowed to stand by itself.
A self-standing structure for a folding baby carriage having two left and right rear legs (13) which are provided with rear wheels (12) at the lower ends thereof and configured so that, when the rear legs (13) are made to approach each other in the left-right direction of the baby carriage (11), the baby carriage is folded and a support leg (21) which is provided to the left and right rear legs (13) comes in contact with the ground together with the rear wheels (12) to allow the folding baby carriage to stand by itself. The support leg (21) comprise two support leg elements (22) which cross each other at the intermediate section of each of the support leg elements in the longitudinal direction thereof and which are rotatably connected at the crossing section (23). The upper ends (22a) of the support leg elements (22) are connected, while the support leg elements (22) are tilted in the front-rear direction, to the rear legs (13) so as to be able to rotate as the left and right rear legs (13) approach and separate from each other. When the baby carriage is folded and is in a self-standing position, the lower ends of the two support leg elements (22) serve as ground contact sections (22b) which are in contact with the ground at positions separated from the rear wheels (12) in the front-rear direction.
