Abstract:
The self-steering device for a railway vehicle of the present invention includes: an axle mounted to a truck for supporting the vehicle body of a railway vehicle; vehicle wheels connected to the axle, and having wheel profiles, which move on the top surfaces of rails and support the vertical loads of the railway vehicle, and wheel flanges, which are protruded from the wheel profiles to prevent the railway vehicle from getting derailed, contacts the side surfaces of the rails during movement in a straight direction by the railway vehicle so as to form interference sections; and guide rollers which form rolling contact with the top surface corners of the rails or the side surfaces of the rails at the front or rear side of the wheels so as to support lateral loads more than the interference sections, when the railway vehicle advances to curved rails. The guide rollers are directly mounted to the railway vehicle or to at least any one of the vehicle body, the truck, and the axle.
