Abstract:
The present invention relates to a semiconductor device allowing energy consumption due to writing of data into a non-volatile storage unit to be minimized. A writing control circuit 34 stores the same data as the data stored in MTJ elements MTJ1, MTJ2. When storing the data held by a slave latch 32 in the MTJ elements MTJ1, MTJ2, the writing control circuit 34 performs control so as to determine whether or not to write the data held by the slave latch 32 to the MTJ elements MTJ1, MTJ2 by comparing the data stored therein with the data held by the slave latch 32. When the data stored therein matches with the data held by the slave latch 32, the writing control circuit 34 performs control so as to determine not to write the data into the MTJ elements MTJ1, MTJ2.
