Abstract:
Provided is a semiconductor device which can reduce the possibility of a peripheral portion, that is disposed in the vicinity of the semiconductor device and that is not malfunctioning, from being destroyed when a semiconductor element constituting the semiconductor device has short-circuited. This semiconductor device 1 includes: a plurality of semiconductor elements 2 for switching a supplied voltage; a detection unit 4 for detecting a short-circuit current of the plurality of semiconductor elements 2; and a control unit 5 that, from among the plurality of semiconductor elements 2, sets the semiconductor elements 2 which are outputting a current of the same polarity to a conductive state, such setting performed when a short-circuit current of at least one semiconductor element 2 from among the plurality of semiconductor elements 2 has been detected by the detection unit 4.
