Abstract:
The present invention provides a semiconductor device which is implantable in a living organism. A semiconductor device which is implantable in a living organism, and which comprises a communication unit, a control unit, a storage unit, an arithmetic unit and a sensor unit. The control unit has a function of controlling the communication unit, the arithmetic unit and the storage unit. The storage unit has a function of holding identification information. In addition, the arithmetic unit has a function of generating third information by using first information and second information supplied from the sensor unit. The control unit has a function of causing the arithmetic unit to execute arithmetic processing in accordance with a signal input thereinto via the communication unit. The control unit has a function of outputting either or both of the identification information and the third information to the outside via the communication unit in accordance with a signal input thereinto via the communication unit. The arithmetic unit comprises a transistor which contains an oxide semiconductor in a channel forming region. It is preferable that this semiconductor device is covered with a covering material.
