Abstract:
A semiconductor photoelectric converter which is capable of operating at a high sensitivity and high speed over a range of frequencies ranging from infrared to far infrared. For that purpose, the photoelectric converter is composed of a static induction type of transistor and a static induction thyristor. Atoms which form an impurity layer which is excited by light having a wavelength longer than the wavelength of the light corresponding to the energy of the forbidden band width of the channel region receiving the light are added to the channel region.
