Abstract:
A semiconductor unit provided between a motor and an inverter circuit that controls the motor. The semiconductor unit includes a transistor and a control unit. The transistor: is provided between the inverter circuit and a positive electrode of a battery that supplies power to the inverter circuit; and controls the supply of power from the battery to the inverter circuit. The control unit is connected to a control terminal on the transistor and controls a control voltage being the voltage applied to the control terminal. The control unit controls the control voltage so as to cause intermittent operation of the transistor, when power supply from the battery to the inverter circuit is started, and reduces the control voltage applied to the transistor control terminal to less than the control voltage when the transistor is fully on.
