Abstract:
The problems addressed by the present invention are resolved by means of an electrostatic capacitance type sensor device, built into a steering wheel, characterized in that: the steering wheel includes a rim, and a spoke connected to the inside of the rim; the sensor device includes an electrode capable of being capacitively coupled to an object to be detected, and a control unit, and is provided on the spoke; and the control unit detects a change in the electrostatic capacitance of the electrode that occurs when the object comes into contact with or is in close proximity to the rim or the spoke, and determines whether or not the object has come into contact or is in close proximity on the basis of the change in electrostatic capacitance.
