Title:
SENSOR DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/203446
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To make variable the detection range and detection accuracy of a sensor device that uses the deformation of a viscoelastic elastomer. [Solution] A sensor device (1) having: a magnetoviscoelastic elastomer (2) that has conductive magnetic particles (15) dispersed therein, an elastic modulus that varies according to the strength of an applied magnetic field, and an electrical resistance value in a prescribed direction that changes in accordance with deformation; magnetic field application means (5, 6) that apply a magnetic field to the magnetoviscoelastic elastomer and are capable of changing the strength of the applied magnetic field; a resistance detection means (35) for detecting the electrical resistance of the magnetoviscoelastic elastomer; and a calculation means (10) for calculating at least the deformation state of the magnetoviscoelastic elastomer or the load applied to the magnetoviscoelastic elastomer on the basis of the detection value of the resistance detection means and the strength of the magnetic field applied by the magnetic field application means.
