Abstract:
A sensor element 101 is a sensor element for detecting a specific gas concentration in a to-be-measured gas, the sensor element 101 comprising: an element body (layers 1-6) which includes an oxygen ion-conductive solid electrolyte layer and is provided with, in the interior thereof, a to-be-measured gas circulating part that introduces and circulates the to-be-measured gas; a reference-gas-adjusting pump cell 90 which has a pump reference electrode 42p disposed so as to contact the reference gas introduced to a reference gas introduction part 49, and which draws oxygen into the surroundings of the pump reference electrode 42p; and a V2 detection sensor cell 82 which has a voltage reference electrode 42s disposed so as to contact the reference gas introduced to the reference gas introduction part 49, has a measuring electrode 44 disposed in a third inner space 61 so as to contact the to-be-measured gas, and generates a voltage based on the oxygen concentration in the surroundings of the measuring electrode 44.
