Title:
SENSOR STRIP FOR DETECTING OBSTACLES AND A COUPLING STRUCTURE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/043979
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
Disclosed is a sensor strip for sensing the approach of obstacles by using changes in electrostatic capacitance. The sensor strip of the present invention comprises: a sensor body in the form of a strip having a reference surface that couples to an object on one side; and a planar strip electrode which is buried in the length direction on the inside of the sensor body, and which becomes closer to the reference surface, progressing from the edges towards the central area in the width direction. According to one embodiment of the present invention, lateral sensitivity can be reduced by concentrating the sensing zone of the sensor strip towards the central area, and consequently it is possible to solve the problem whereby a vertically moving window in a vehicle is erroneously determined to be obstructed and the operation thereof is stopped. Also, there is the advantageous effect that production costs can be reduced as compared with hitherto since a thin metal sheet is used as the strip electrode, and there is the advantage that moulding work is easy since there are no voids within the sensor body.
